The excavation includes the removal of approximately 250,000 cubic yards of dirt to support the construction of two levels of below grade garages across nearly the entire footprint of the site.

As of March 24th, approximately 12-15’ below ground surface worth of dirt has been removed from the site, and now we’re working on installing tiebacks around the perimeter of the site to reinforce the structural integrity of the lagging and soldier beams before moving forward with the remaining excavation around the site.

The remaining excavation activities should take another few months, and then we will begin erecting four tower cranes onsite and pouring our mat foundations. The mat pours and crane erections have been diligently coordinated with the City of Sunnyvale, Downtown Association and other stakeholders to minimize the interruption to the downtown. We ask for your continued patience as we move forward with these projects!

Mass excavation activities at Block 3 of Cityline have begun!

When all of that work is done we’ll be pulling back our fence to fully open the surface parking lot that’s nearest to the redwood trees. Lastly, construction at the “Flats West” is nearing completion, and leasing has begun! If you’re interested in leasing please go to the residential section of this website.
